About the Properties of Aircraft

Post by KC45 »

Hi I'm KC45 and because of Japanese Community starts making a kind of "Help Wiki" (Just imagine Japanese version of Baloogan wiki) I need to gather information of the game as much as I can. And I thought this is good time to ask the ability of all of the Aircraft property on the DB. (Ships...weapons are later.)
It is easy to understand what "Boom refueling" do but "Fuselage Structure - High Subsonic Bomber" is not clear. I want to ask the actual functions of the property below. (Or if there is any homepage I can see the information, please let me know!)

Blip Enhance

Bombsight - Advanced Computing
Bombsight - Advanced Navigation (INS/GPS)
Bombsight - Ballistic Computing
Bombsight - Ballistic Computing

All of the type of Fuselage Structure

Helmet Mounted Sight / Display (HMS/HMD)
Night Navigation (Ferry, Air-to-Air, Air-to-Surface Missiles)
Night Navigation/Attack (Incl. Bomb, Rocket Delivery)
Supermanouverability (5th Gen Fighters)

Terrain Avoidance (Land: 300ft [91.4m], Sea: 100ft [30.5m]) and
Terrain Following (Land: 200ft [60.9m], Sea: 100ft [30.5m])

Thanks.

From Cmano´s Faq:

Do aircraft bombsight affect bombing accuracy?

Yes the bombsight affects the Circular Error Probability (CEP) for ballistic weapons (bombs and rockets) as follows.

Basic: No reduction
Ballistic Computing: 25% reduction
Advanced Computing: 50% reduction
Advanced Navigation (INS/GPS): 75% reduction

Are High Off-Boresight (HOB) Air-to-Air Missiles (AAMs) simulated?

There’s both a HOB flag for weapons and a Helmet Mounted Display (HMD) flag for aircraft. The two can but don’t always combine. The simulator is modelling each of these factors as having a cumulative effect. So:
– Standard missile, guided weapon, or torpedo: 40 degrees firing arc
– HOB missile: +20 deg.
– HMD: +30 deg.

Its worth reading it whole.

Probably KC45 means - how real aircraft devices or devices characteristics mapped to aircraft properties in CMANO.

To the extent these properties are found in the database, I believe things like the "Fuselage Structure" are included because they are used in the computation of aircraft damage. In earlier versions of CMANO there was no damage to an aircraft - if you hit it it was dead. Beginning with the COW update, the game now models damage to aircraft, including specific components.

Some items, such as the bombsights referenced by Kobu, have other uses such as accuracy computations, but I think they can be damaged as well.

Anyone feel free to clarify/correct this....
