How exactly do the distance boxes work? Do they add to movement costs when land units pass through them? Air movement? Naval movement?

They affect Range for Ranged Units only. No effect on Movement.

One of my pet peeves. If they effect range why don't they effect distance? They are the same thing. [:D]
