Some of the best color clips I've seen yet.
It looks like the P-39 lands hot!

Early fighter with tricycle landing gear, and unlike taildraggers, they invariably land "hotter" for that reason.
At least they probably did not have the same landing view problems experienced by the taildragger pilots who had to put up with a big engine cowling blocking their forward view, lol

Very interesting...especially the weather, living conditions and logistics of plane maintenance.

Informative vid.

The wetness and humidity of the tropics are not fully understood until it is experienced. If the temp drops to the 70s you can get the chills. They are lucky to have tents and cots. It is a different world for the infantry. I spent over a month in the hospital due to a case of jungle rot.

The swollen bellies of the native kids are probably due to the lack of the protein albumin.

Sunsets over the Pacific are stupendous.

I had an uncle that fought on that enchanted island dodging bullets and malaria during that time. He managed to win the battle with bullets, but he lost the battle with malaria. He had many stories of the action there. This video brought a number of those stories to life. Thanks.
