I hope they do a better job than the people who did the CY6 conversion.

A title covering air combat in WWI is allways wellcome, i like the WWI aircrafts style (i love Albatross serie even with all their problems) Sid Meier´s title was fun but not what i call a serious wargame... but well i still wait the "Rule the Waves" for WWI aircombat.

Expect they offer something better than "Check your six"... 2018 was a bad year for tabletop conversions apart the "Bloody April" MIA situation.

Last time I spoke to Terry of Bloody April he was not too happy that no work at all had been done by Lordz except the advert.

I will be eagerly watching for this , yet I am now jaded towards TT games being converted to digital. My youngest daughter (15 at the time) worked her tail off and purchased me CY6 as a 50th Birthday present. I wanted it, and she made it happen for her father, speaks well of her character. I would love to have a face to face with the team from cy6 and still hope to one day. Where I can express my disapproval as a father at them having basically caused my child to question if she did the right thing in giving me the game as a gift. You see taking my money and being a thief is one thing, taking my child's joy at what she THOUGHT she had accomplished (Which was the REAL GIFT she gave me, though a child doe not usually understand this, till they have their own children)in working so hard to get the money for it, well that means I need to do my job as a Father in both teaching her that can happen, and also teaching the one who does it why they should never ever again do such a thing to my ,or any one else Children. Be good for them to hear I think.

So you can understand why I, as others I see in this thread, will be wary of it till its on solid ground. The just plan abandonment of CY6 fresh in our minds.I truly hope it is successful in every way .

My apologize for rant and semi HIJACK of this thread in advance but it just roared out of me once I thought of it.

Sorry to hear about that Stone. Perhaps, you have to use it as a learning tool. Sometimes, we get burned, and on this one was a Big Burn. However, I delay my purchases and often times this is a good strategy. I wish I could refund the money to you.

Oh I did, was my first time dealing with such blatant theft by devs, but its was the reaction my daughter had and thinking she let me down that galvanized my resolve to watch for this team or team members on any project anywhere and warn people. Which I will do.

Thank you, but was not your fault, or any one else , other than the obvious of course. I used it to teach my kid the pitfalls of any type of transaction on the internet so it had some redeeming value, but still so many people let down by this bunch of cowards gets me heated fast thinking about it. There are more less fortunate than I that may have spent entire month or 3 Months or 6 months worth of a gaming budget on this and I feel for them too, so I continue my vigil for good or bad in watching for them to surface and ANY Publisher willing to try them again. Takes little of my time, and I know its mostly in vain, but if we are not our brothers keeper when it comes to things like this, then who will be ?

Your offer of just "wishing you could refund my money" is more than generous in thought alone. If that had been done by this team , would have went a long way to some people in easing the loss . Not all, but some.

Regards ,

While I would certainly like to see 'Wings of Glory' (should be FUN tactical battles)

'Bloody April' was (imho) a dream conversion because of the operational design... Flights of several aircraft with battles resolved on a CRT... You don't see that much in WW1 aircombat games.

That kind of story really gets to me. You have a wonderful daughter and a bunch of jerks destroyed her thoughtful gift. It is a poor comfort, but the thought made it count. The product sucks, but the thought behind it would have made it special.

Yeah I had that happen to me with "Tigers Unleashed" from HPS. Girlfriend bought it for me for my birhtday two years ago. I bought "Point of Attack 2", but that didn´t work, as my own gift to myself. Girlfriend saw my frustration so she bought me Tigers Unleashed. "Hey hun, how´s the game I bought you? It dosent work babe". I felt like crap! But then you have some guys trying to convince you it will work some day! Well, to late now but what do they care and or know...

Then you have to explain "why" your so angry with the dev, aside from the $60/120 price tag to all those who stand aside with the project. Just so nobody thinks that your being anal about it. Which even makes one feel more foolish! Just thinking about it makes me angry again, so yes I fully understand your thoughts on the subject [:(]

One thing is burn your money in a bad buy that is a shit but you can deal with it, in the end is only money, and other very different when the pile of shit is a gift from somebody that thinks you are going to enjoy it... this is a lot more than the wasted money in a bad buy.

Returning to the topic... i expect we can have a good tactical game, is not like WWI receive all the PC gaming attention it needs... here naval part for me is better covered than air combat part but is true that RTW and the WWI title from NWS do a great job covering this part.

I expect we can have a superior tactical game and who knows, maybe could be like FOG II and the future strategic game covering ancients... a simbiotic relation with a more operational-strategic title.

PD: strong skirmish mode and dont try piece to much content... DLCs ala FOG II, pay to have a single airplane no.
