Refueling question

Post by nogravity »

I have some fighters set to an air intercept mission but they never take off when targets are detected. Now those targets are out of the fighters internal normal range but I have air tankers flying refuel support mission half-way to those targets. My fighters would have enough fuel if they "know" to use these midway refuel stops. How do I make them to take off and refuel automatically; then proceed to those targets?

Or, should they be assigned to a AAW patrol mission instead?

Thanks

Two things comes to mind.
1. In the mission settings, do you have any min\max range restrictions?
2. In the mission config in the tanker related config dialog, perhaps set 'launch without tanker support in place'?

That is it. Once airborne, the planes will seek refueling tankers when necessary. If without selecting 'launch without tanker support in place', the fighters just sit at the base since their internal fuel does not support the necessary range.

Thank you
