Good to see these titles here

Post by Asid2 »

I own Land Doctrine. Though I haven't spent much time with it.

Good to see these titles at Matrix.

can't test latest one, as demo button doesn't work either on steam, so can't comment on how either plays

Code: Select all

I own Panzer Doctrine and find it enjoyable, but have t slow the speed down to have any chance of success.

kind of a problem with most RTS for me, but some now days like this give the chance to slow it down and some even now are pause-able, making it all but easier for the likes of me, one of the slower type players

Yes, you can pause it too, which like yourself, I find I have to do quite often.

well if they play anything like Armored Brigade which is also a RTS, i must admit i may need to add more RTS to my on watch list, as that is very easy to play and control, so will wait and see what's being planned in this section and keep an eye on it for more information, never know there maybe a 3rd one to the series coming[;)]

If a third in the series covers either the WW2 Western Front or North Africa, I shall be a happy man.

PD is no AB by any means [;)]

However, the historical details and large amount of unit/game/battle stats really surprised me. Picking your own OOB at the start is also fun. Of course, I use Cheat Engine and pick as many as I like, as I couldn't win the game without cheating to save my life. It is pretty tough.

I have won some of the easier scenarios, but there does come a point where I simply have no chance, regardless of how many times I replay the same scenario.

A BETTER version of Sid Meiers Civilization, if you can shamelessly borrow that concept for another game, i would like to see as well. The game was great in Civilization 2 with it´s randomly generated planet and fog of war, wonder movies and tech tree.
The "AI" on the other hand was a joke and the sequels was not to my liking at all.
I have ideas on how to make it and keep the game true to that original interface and feel if, or if not, a purchase of the game license is required for it.

1. Civ. specific special units like redcoats for the English, longboats and vikings for a Scandinavian Civilization etc.
2. Greatly improved diplomacy since the one in Civ 2 was not much of a logical one as well.
3. Distinct land boarders for your civ. that is based upon your cities and one actual border to draw can´t be that hard to implement based on the distance from your city and three or so hexes depending on cultivated hexes around your city and city radius coupled with where your other cities are located.

Just from the top of my head suggestions for a Civilization edition.
Think for yourself and never let others do it for you
