MrKane vs Wargamer part II

Post by Mike McCreery »

I am going full sir robin on this one. Going to manage to get over 9K into Chungking with no stacking limits. Interesting to see how long it takes MrKane to dig that mess out.

Weather is milder, bombers are faster, I have limitations on night bombing of airfields and ports. Scenario 1.

My goal is to beat my last game of November 1945.

In my opinion MrKane is one of the best players in the game. At least that get talked about in AAR's.

I am very honored he chose to play me a 2nd time.

+1, but so are you when you aren't rushing the turns. I was blown away by how you planned so far in advance that you could conduct multiple large invasions with well-prepped troops, well escorted and with good assault shipping allocation.

Mr. Kane has a different style, going for the deep, risky attacks that can either pay off big or flop spectacularly. He will expend assets in a manner I would call a reckless, but others would say "calculated, manner. I lost my calculator a long time ago so I can't figure when losses are "worth it"! [:D]

EDIT: Meant to add, I hope you can find the time to describe the action to us at least weekly!

I still have the game with Lowpe going in the middle of 1942 as well as this one so I really dont have the time for an AAR in detail. Hope to do a monthly report. We are flipping turns like mad right now since everything is practiced in the first few months.

Also fixated on building a 28mm scale tavern/inn which is taking up a huge amount of my time ;]

Every good player is so different. Trying to adapt from one to another is fascinating. Lowpe is fearless!

Wargamr: Also fixated on building a 28mm scale tavern/inn which is taking up a huge amount of my time ;]

What does 28mm scale mean? 28mm to one foot? one metre? 100 mm?

You know that cobblestone is going to be a bear to clean the ale, vomit, blood and peanut shells out of!

There is a debate but it is somewhere around 1/58 scale. It is used by warhammer 40K and other games. Essentially a full size doorway is 1 3/4" high and 1" wide. My floors are 3" high with 1/4" thick flooring in between. May drop down to 2 1/2". The biggest concern about this project is ultimately the weight.

Cobblestones are for horse shit and piss... Tavern is 2 levels up with a hardwood floor ;]

Mike has strained/hurt a back injury and is not feeling too well right now. I suspect updates will be scarce till he feels better.

It's just a flesh wound!!!

Closing on the end of January 1942. MrKane has besieged Singapore, Manila, and Kweiyang(?) near Chungking. I have managed to stash 16K of troops in Chungking with over 1K still on the way. Interested in seeing if he is going to break this before Lowpe breaks Chungking where I did not pull a sir robin.

Port Moresby just fell but no action in Java yet.
