Crash when opening OOB window

Post by Attack »

In some scenarios, the game crashes when opening the OOB window, or the Formation window. Others scenarios work well.
Try to open recent reinforcements crashes the game, too.
I attach the crash log.

Trying to see the "recent reinforcements", most part of scenarios I´ve played. But "next reinforcements" works well allways.

Trying to see OOB, most part of scenarios too.

Trying to see the Formation OOB, some scenarios works and some scenarios crash.

Never crashes in Ardennes 44, Arrancourt 44 or Autumn fog 44, second battle of Karkhov, Eastern Front 41-45, Barbarossa 41, Italy 43.

Crashes trying to see OOB, recent reinforcements or formation reppor in "Directive 21, 1941-1945"...

Just testing "Call to Arms, 1775" (scenario wich I was playing PBEM and crased yesterdya in turn... may be 12 when I checked the formation of an british unit (the rest worked well, but no worked recent reinforcements), crashed an appeared this, may be can help:

I opened both scenarios in 4.0.1.23 in hotseat turn one and I cannot reproduce these errors. I know this doesn't help you, but it may help anyone else that looks into it.

Try to launch the game by double clicking the Opart.exe file in c:programs (x86)/Matrix Games/The Operational Art of War IV. See if you still get the error messages.

I tried double clicking in Opart and Opart-slow. (I suppous is this). Game launched. And when trying to see the OOB or recent reinforcements, game crashes (in directive 21).

I´m really stupid with a computer in my hands. If I can do something wrong, I´ll do. So may be I did something?

It probably has something to do with your computer. Right now the dev is very busy with the release coming soon and he would likely have a good idea of what is happening. Did you do a default installation or did you change some directory?

Default instalation. Now, I´ve deleted and reinstalled the game, deleted and reinstalled the scenario... Deleted the TOAoW III that still was in my computer, I dont know why. And still crashes.

When the dev have time, they can study this problem.

Do you have the patch installed? I think that there was a bug that made the game crash when using the mouse scroll wheel in some of those dialogs.

By the way, the Battle time stamps, and the battle stamps warning, disappeared. How can I have them again? I don´t see any option. [&:]
