New Avatar - My Dad onboard USS Randolph, CVA-15, in the MED in the early Fifties, maybe 1954. First deployment of the Regulus Missile, and Randolph's last deployment with a straight deck. She received an angle deck in 1955 modernization.

So here is a post-card of Randolph in '56 when my Dad left the ship.

This is a pic of my Grandfather (Dad's Dad) in Early Jan 1945 after completing basic in Maryland. As a Foreman at a Coal Mine in southern WV, he was not selected for service until Dec 1944. With 3 children, and being 35 years old, he was one of last big drafts for Pacific War. The issue was still in doubt in Dec '44.....

Rounding out this mornings caffeine fueled nostalgia trip is yours truly, Topside Maine, coming down the Cumberland River and performing my last re-enlistment. Circa 1995. That should be five-oh, only took nine years....

Just curious, you said last reenlistment, when did you retire? I retired 99 Feb on The Moose (Uss Moosbrugger DD-980).
