In your "reliable torpedoes on" game, are the Mk. Xs any more reliable than the Mk. XIVs? It seems as though you've imported a real-life problem into your newspaper as a non-existing issue for your game.

To put it like this - there is no "reliable torpedoes on" issue - simply because there are no reliable torpdoes. They are just
as unreliable as always - I'd even say worse, in comparison with how I have experienced it earlier. I don't know if this is a
peculiarity for this special scenario or whatever.

Considering the offensive way the allied submarines have been used, even with "topped" commanders, and the locations and
choke-points they have been concentrated at, the results are extremely meagre. I'd also say "my" boats have been driven
much harder than in this period of the war. Even the Dutch fair badly.

I am compiling a list of actual torpedo attacks and the lacklustre results. I am as convinced as ever that this is grossly
"over-played" by the game.

Fred

P.S.: I suppose the reporter mentioned the torpedo question mainly because of the very exclusive target involved...[;)]

Seems since was a current war report that you writer had loose lips and gave away a ton of OPSEC.

You know - reporters.....[;)]..

That said, reading newspapers from the actual period it is quite astonishing how quickly and accurately
various events were described.

Nice to see some successful push-back on the Allied side! Go Alphabet and Far East units! [:)]

BTW, avenge is the verb (avenged in the past tense). Revenge is the noun - there is no "revenged". [:-]

Thank you, I know you have given a head-up on this before. Shall try to improve myself. Not easy...[;)]..

Not easy to give back on this opponent, either - he's driving a hard bargain...[:@]...So were the Japanese, too..

If you push too much forward into the defense of Burma and Rangoon he may land behind you at Cox's Bazaar or Chittagong and cut off your line of retreat and supplies.
