Do AMc sweep mines from enemy held bases?

Post by Lowpe »

I am curious if AMc actually sweep mines from an enemy held port? I can't get mine to work...

Sitting in the destination hex, with remain of station...I stopped using patrol orders because of the thread posted earlier. Sometimes I move it in and out of the hex to a dot base I own next adjacent.

I wonder if it simply a really timid leader, I haven't checked that.

Is the TF type "Minesweeping" or "Local Minesweeping"? Because I think it matters.

AMc to the best of my knowledge can only do local minesweeping. Wargamr has the turn and I will check when I get it back.

Here is a picture, don't look too hard Wargamr.[;)]

I am going to chalk it up to being a single ship, very poor crew 25 or worse experience, and I neglected to look at the Captain. The DMS detached from the bombardment TF have cleaned up the mines.

I don't like using single ship TF but in this case that was all that was available until more arrived.

Plus the Allies could have been refreshing their minefields too.

I'm not positive, but I think the Captain needs to have decent Aggression (AKA cajones) to take on the minesweeping mission.

I am sure the trawler Captain and crew never signed up for front line work!

I would try again with more fuel, "remain on station" and high threat tolerance

Took me a while to get the right setup, but I can confirm that AMcs will indeed sweep an enemy base:

You want to sweep Tabiteuea? I don't see enemy minefield icon there, so if it exist it is undetected. But to my knowledge, minesweepers always sweep enemy mines in their hex. Even under fire of enemy CD guns. I don't think they will go there on their own, you have to send them specifically.
