Or not.

If another F1 film is in our future, it should be about this seaon's rivalry.

Did Vettel ruin his tires pacing behind Kimi while his team tried to remember who's driving for championship #5? My wife is German and I did not know that she had learned so many expletives from her soldier boy husband. :)

And the hits keep on coming...

yes, sad that ricciardos engine failed, afterwards i learned they were it seems risking germany, so that they would be right or something for hungary a track red bull believes it would be better at; power tracks do not seem to favor red bull. - with the imagery of a charging bull, it would be more suitable that they are cars with excellent straight line speed and less grip on corners, but the opposite seems to be the case for them. It has been interesting getting back into F1 this year, as it seems like so much more discussion and coverage goes into the nuances of each car and driver and so seeing the different braking styles of drivers described has helped me learn about things in the sport i hitherto had no real idea about.

i know, thats crazy big news! at first i thought, oh that will be a step back, but the more i heard the more it seems like not too bad a choice, and i dont mind Renault - i always like to play as Hulkenberg on F1 2017.

Alonso to retire from F1 at the end of the season.

https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/head ... -2018.html

Hulkenberg gets a 10 place grid penalty for treating Alonso's McLaren like a cue ball at Spa. Drivers praise the halo for LeClerc's unscathed survival.

Lewis did not sound optimistic about his chances against Sepp's Ferrari. What a season to enjoy. On to Monza!

Great performance from Lewis this weekend [&o].

I think the biggest factor in Danny Ric's decision to leave Red Bull is the gap to Verstappen, which is just growing as the Dutchman gains more experience. He is going to dominate the sport in years to come and all records are open to him.

Another outstanding performance from Verstappen in Sochi. If that Honda engine comes good next year he is going to be a force to be reckoned with.....

Fantastic race yesterday. COTA is such a great track!

Great drives from Kimi, Max and Lewis. Mercedes made a huge mistake not bringing Lewis in when he had a 17 second lead and Pirelli had said the tyres would not go to the end. But it made for great entertainment - I was out of my seat, and with my heart in my mouth when Lewis attempted to overtake Max! Lewis showed great maturity not to risk a collision and to instead think of the bigger picture.

So the title race moves on to Mexico.... Lewis 70 ahead and just 75 left to play for.

A great big Ditto on that! The first corner looks like it's straight up.

Vettel turned into his own worst enemy this season.

+1

Vettel blew the last 3 races in the first lap. 3 first laps, 3 collisions. Lots of points lost.

Lewis Hamilton equals the great JM Fangio on 5 World Driver Championship wins. So pleased for Lewis. It's been a great season. No one can say he's had the best car over the season (close with Ferrari and on at least two occasions the Red Bull has been out of sight), but his drives have made the difference. Not a mistake worthy of the name, some stunning qualifying laps (which really made the difference on race day) and some superb race craft and really mature driving. Top man, top driver!!!!

Lewis - what a season its been [&o]. Ending 2018 with an 11th race win is pretty impressive to say the least given the opposition from Ferrari and Red Bull at times. I think he mentally destroyed Sebastian. He has driven a largely perfect season - no real mistakes worth the name - and so kept the pressure on the Ferrari even when the Prancing Horse had the best car.

Many have commented that this was his best season to date. I think they are right.

Lewis scored more points than any driver in history along with setting several other records. Truly phenomenal!

Farewell to Alonso and Raikonnen!

Lots of driver changes for the next season. Will LeClerc be the Ferrari challenger that Vettel wasn't?

Interesting. My money is on Alonso being back next year - 2021 at the latest. And don't write Vettel off just yet.. he's had a really bad year but he had one of those in 2014 and came back strongly.

That said, I can't wait to see Vettel vs Leclerc next year. Hulkenburg vs Ricciardo will be worth watching too.

To clarify, Lewis scored more points in one season than anyone else. I think it was 402.

Yeah, I hope that Renault gives Danny Ric and Hulk a car that can compete.

Meanwhile, this just in:

Maybe Jimmie should call Haas?
