If your concern is the CIWS hitting the SS-N-19, which still hits the target: I'm not sure a hit by a CIWS on an SS-N-19 at that range would have prevented the hit. Your attached combat report shows that the CWIS hit and the SS-N-19 hit on the MISSOURI occurred simultaneously, ie, the SS-N-19 was very close to its target when it was hit. Further, even for missiles that are further away from its target than what occurred in your game, being hit by CIWS does not necessarily prevent sheer momentum of the missile from carrying into the target. At a speed of mach 2.5, the SS-N-19 has a lot of momentum.

If your concern is that the SS-N-19 hit the target, then was hit by the CIWS, then I would argue as above that the two weapon systems hit simultaneously, and that the order they appear in the combat log is merely reflective of the order the computer resolved the attacks. However, the net effect of such a scenario is what happened: The SS-N-19 still hits its target basically uneffected by it having been hit by the CIWS. Aside from making the combat log merely appear look more logical, it wouldn't affect anything.

James-I can assure you the devs are very interested in fixing bugs. A quick look through the this forum will readily confirm that. In my experience, few, if any, development teams are more responsive than this group.

It's P-700. That's huge to say at least missile (7 tons) traveling between Mach 1.6 and Mach 2.5 (depending on the profile) and on top of that - it's armored. Vital parts of the missile are covered with armor with the sole purpose of resisting the CIWS and shrapnels from missiles detonating close by. The fact that CIWS shouldn't have problem with unarmored 700kg Harpoon anti-ship missile doesn't mean it can stop 7 000kg armored train at point blank range when even changing it's trajectory a bit is not enough to make it miss the ship. I don't see any bug here.

Well I really hope so, seeing Dimitris taking 2 minutes to respond to a potential military contractor in order to propose him the Professional Edition http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4495540&mpage=1&key= but not being able to find some seconds in three weeks to at least say something like "thanks for the feedback" to a customer who invested his time to report this without personal gain in order to help the devs... raised some doubt.

You should take your time and read the title and first post, you didn´t get the point. Nobody is talking about missile protection here but why the CIWS hits are reported after the missile already impacted and if this is wether a bug or CMANO printing information in non-chronological order.

The development team have fixed thousands of bugs and made countless free upgrades to the game. They may have missed this one or they may not have had time to respond to it yet. I don't know exactly why, but how about bumping the topic without implying the devs are lazy or incompetent?

The fact Dimitris found a few seconds to reply to another post does not imply anything. By coincidence this week they are at Lockheed Martins offices training them, the US Navy, Australian Airforce and range of others how to use Command for analytical and research purposes.

I'll refer it to the team and I'm sure when they are back they'll respond.

no saves, no logs, no version number either, makes it rather hard to reply [:(]

As mentioned, without a save prior to missile hitting, it is very difficult to say what happened.

Sorry I didn't have a save...I'll try and recreate it...but you will need a save from "before" the event..correct?

Yes, a pre-event save helps a lot to walk through the issue.
