Any way to turn some of this mess off on the map?

Post by fatgreta1066 »

I'm playing the user created Desert Storm scenario, which has many many units. Having the "uncertainty rings" and last time of contact on the map for all of the uncertain contacts is a huge mess. Is there any way to turn those things off on the map display? I've tried every setting I can see in the Map Settings menu so I think the answer is no, but it's worth a shot in case those more knowledgeable have the secret.

Right click the contact, then 'filter out' from the context menu. Alternately go to Contacts > Filter Out All Contacts

Try the merge symbols option and Datablocks - selected unit only.
Deactivate sensors and weapon range rings you don't need.

THANK YOU!!!! One question, will the game engine still track the contacts, will ASuW patrols that detect them still engage, etc.? Or is that command me telling the game "these forces no longer exist," or something like that?

They're still tracked, just area of uncertainty is not displayed.
