Operation Cartwheel 1943-1945

Post by larryfulkerson »

It turns out that Operation Coronet is an early working name for Operation
Chronicle
which is just one operation under the operational umbrella for
Operation Cartwheel. I found a scenario dealing with Cartwheel and I ran
it through the editor, zipped it up and attached it here below. I guess
we just need for somebody to playtest it. Volunteers?

The map is pretty good, but the order of battle and TOEs aren't very realistic.

As far as I'm concerned you should feel free to contact the scenario
designer and see if permission to mod the scenario to a different name
might be obtained. Of course you're free to mod it in any case for
your own use. How old is it? You can mod the heck out of it as long
as you use a different name for your product I think, but I'd give
attribution to the scenario designer in some way. How much work is
involved do you think?

I was using this scenario back when we were testing naval stuff for IV. I'm not a Naval or Pacific War guy at all, so others could speak more to what NickD posted 4 years ago. But while taking a short break from Ukraine 2022 development [just to avoid scenery fatigue] I was looking at this scenario to see if I might go over the OOB's using more recently available sources. maybe Sam or Antonio are still around and can let us know what they think about further developing this one. The thing that I feel is appealing is that it covers such a wide area and a number of Operations. It's only 40 week long turns, so for those that love to plan stuff, this one seems nice.
