Was there a Zakblood Win10 Validation for this?

Empires in Arms is the computer version of Australian Design Group classic board game. Empires in Arms is a seven player game of grand strategy set during the Napoleonic period of 1805-1815. The unit scale is corps level with full diplomatic options

Was there a Zakblood Win10 Validation for this?

Post by DonCzirr »

I can't find it in the stickies.

I have a Win 8.1 and Win 10 machine running at 1920 x 1080.

Zak - have you (or could you) check on this one for install, sizing, Alt + Tabbing etc ?

Thanks Zak - saw the link.

Yes - a confirm on smooth Alt + Tab, DPI etc would give me better confidence to buy.

I play Matrix / Slitherine games to blow off steam when I get quick work breaks - so having the ability to quickly Alt + Tab - do a turn or 2 and then get back to work is very important.

Cool - so no distortion or crashes from Alt + tab from other applications or restoring from minimized to desktop?

none on my test pc no, worked right out of the install, with nothing added or altered and passed all my shake down tests, alt tab in and out, full screen and 99% screen size tested, so windowed in other words, so can see all exits and move the whole window around, some game like it, others don't, so yes past with flying colours [;)]

FWIW, I do code development on 64-bit Win 10 widescreen. For the previous v1.21.04 update I also had a Win 7 laptop to verify graphics changes worked OK on smaller screens. I do not anticipate further graphics changes, so EIA should continue to run on PCs and laptops. If the game does not run with proper compatibility settings and dpi, please let me know and I will take a look.

Thanks Bill - it's good to know that this game still has development and support.

I used to play this as a board game way back when I was a teen ager with a group of friends and have almost hit the button a few times to buy the computer version - but thought it might be in the category of some of the older Slitherine games. (I got burnt on Horse and Musket Vol I when I bought it a couple of years ago as I found it just about unplayable due to graphics / controls)

EIA sounds like a good bet though so will pull the trigger on this one very soon. (made it to my Father's day wishlist [;)] )

You are quite welcome. I am enjoying the C++ code development as a hobby project and happy to make some continued improvements to the game.

Personally, I never played EIA as a boardgame. I was a War & Peace player. I like EIA's scale and scope as a Napoleonic grand strategy game, better than the other games out there. IMHO.
