The Long Way Round: The Plane that Accidentally Circumnavigated the World

After the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour, the crew of Pan Am flight 18602 were forced to do something almost impossible: return to America the long way round.

This was a fun read.

Some of the reader comments posted at the end of the article indicate that the author borrowed heavily from a book; the author replies that he footnoted the book, but he doesn't (I think) address the allegation that he copied heavily from it, as opposed to relying mostly on his own research and writing.
