Looked as if the crew was on a smoke break, with at least two missiles still in their tubes. And the placement of the vehicle at the end of a runway is a... novel AAW tactic, to say the very least.

Yeah, you see someone running back towards the vehicle right before the strike. When you compare things, how much is training and how much is equipment?

Interesting (and specific) list of Maritime Rights of Allies and “Definitive” U.S. Actions to protect those rights about half-way down the article:

https://warontherocks.com/2018/05/re-or ... challenge/

The section - No Risk no Reward - sort of sums up the tactical situation as well.

China take possession of a regimental set of S-400s:

http://www.businessinsider.com/china-ha ... rd%20Brief

"Depending on which missiles China's S-400s are equipped with, batteries in Fujian could reportedly cover all of Taiwan, while batteries placed in northern Shandong province could reach the Diaoyu/Senkaku Islands, over which Japan and China dispute control."

This just in:

https://www.38north.org/2018/05/punggye ... 45ffba056c

"Satellite imagery from May 7 provided the first definitive evidence that dismantlement of the test site was already well underway.[3] Several key operational support buildings, located just outside the North, West and South Portals, have been razed since our last analysis. Some of the rails for the mining carts, which had led from the tunnels to their respective spoil piles, have apparently been removed. Additionally, some carts seem to have been tipped over and/or disassembled, and several small sheds/outbuildings around the site had been removed."

This news is like an ICBM flew straight into White House's window -- Trump wants to pull back ZTE ban amid trade war, because he 'cares' for Chinese workers:

https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/201 ... nese-jobs/

EDIT: The usual Trump-supporters in ZH have even bigger outcry. ZH editor goes super salty and about this pullout, and further draw confusions amongst themselves whom is the biggest threat in the world (except Trump and USA in their perspective):

This guy has answered in regard to the general reactions:
"It's always fun to see the diehard Trump supporters justify this complete about-face from Trump's earlier position. It destroys the Iran sanctions argument, it directly contradicts his argument about Chinese jobs and goes against the whole MAGA thing (by propping up Chinese corporations). It's opposite day, and the people tying themselves in knots justifying this are once again highlighting their lack of integrity." - Gary Patterson
-------------------------

Also, the second Chinese carrier also installed FQF-6000 on each sides, but why there is not even one person or report had stated they can launch anti-torpedo rockets? TheDrive's article about it has drawn lots of comments about how to sink it with torpedoes, and nobody saying it's a 'sitting duck' who would love some torps for lunch:

http://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/20 ... e-h-w-bush

And according to Henri's report, the new carrier also installed many anti-diver dispensers too:

Pro-gun and anti-gun topics are capable to capsized the president and candidates' credibilities. But what about pro-drone and anti-drone?

Major amount of comments whom downvoted are accused by empathizing Russian and Chinese drones developments to equalize US military superiority, but so are the people whom saying US is already so powerful that even without drones can be challenged. An irony however, is the major amounts of liberal supporters suggest to develop other measures to counter drones because of the civil abuses rather than military threats:

If negotiators want to insult China, they better save their breathe. An expected disagreement seals the fate of trade war's encroachment:

https://mobile.twitter.com/HenriKenhman ... 9102244864

I think demands like that are not aimed at trade war, but real war.

Image

If the demands included that every Chinese should pay the US 1000 dollars a year and that China should stop STEM education at their universities, it wouldnt look out of place. Might also add the demand that China should import million tons of Opium per year from US-owned poppy fields in Afghanistan for good measure...

Demands like these arent "negotiating". Demands like these are typically followed by an ultimatum and threat of all-out war.

Looks like "Made in China 2025" really is the bane to the Western world. Understandable, since the entire West is threatened to loose their lifelihoods and markets once China can churn out comparable high technology at cheaper prices due to state support enabled by China's political and economic system. China would truly be a Japan+USSR on steroids, unstoppable by US enforced Plaza Accords (because unlike Japan, China isnt occupied by US troops), unable to be brought down by the lack of it's own ecoomic growth and lack of consumer goods (because unlike the USSR, China's economy isnt just growing, but the individual chinese purchasing power is also growing)... The sum of all western fears.

Guys this is politics and this is not permitted on the forum. There are plenty of places to discuss this, but here is not one of them.

Thanks for reminding us so kindly. Our enthusiasm for defense news will at times cross over into geopolitics (trade and shipping lanes) and then wander into straight politics were a player's non-defense related philosophies take over.

I would like to cite more military hardware news from Chinese news sites, but given by their increasingly absurd tones and not everybody can understand Chinese, I have difficulty to find these sources in English either.

And some of my non-military news are serving as tangents, which I must say it does induce some political and philosophical perspectives in it. I find it not all players would buy what they said, let alone making a scenario about it.

I will slow down and looking for translational solutions instead of quick-posting, I must admit here and apologize.
