[FIXED B998.8] Weird MIRV Behavior (v1.14 B998.7)

Post by Excroat3 »

Was testing the effectiveness of Israel's Arrow 3 and noticed that the MIRVs targeted on Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are doing figure 8 patterns around the cities at ~2500ft and 6000kts. Any explanation? The MIRVs targeted on other cities all seem to have detonated just fine.

Not exactly. The MIRVs no longer circle around the target, now, rather, they impact the surface and don't seem to detonate. Not sure if repeatable. Another save is attached, just run it at full time compression and watch Israel.

EDIT: The first time I ran the save, the missiles didn't even target Israel, but they did on the second and third times. Missiles still do not seem to detonate. Switching to the Israeli side before starting game time might help.

Tried this now, using B998.9, and it seems to be working as designed. The Shahab-3 RV is not particularly accurate so it typically lands a few hundred meters off the "Tel Aviv" aimpoint. (BTW, I think in cases where you need to model attacks against urban areas it is better to have multiple building clusters, so that even if the weapon lands off the intended aimpoint it still hits something else).

When weapons impact the ground, if they have explosive warheads and they don't malfunction they always detonate.
