The powerful alignment of the USA and Japan has let the Soviet Union to war with Japan.

In order to get troops to engage the Japanese we had to violate Chinese sovereignty, however we will make all incursions whole again, and will not attack China.

We took losses in the capture of Mukden. Red Army and Air Force troops are not seasoned yet.

The USSR has finally resolved the diplomatic quagmire and should be properly aligned for a conflict with Japan soon.

We certainly do not have a navy capable of taking on the IJN. It will be a very long time until we can begin such a challenge. In the meantime we will use land forces to attack the Japanese positions in China. The Red Army is already showing the toughening up that follows initial combat.

The Soviet Union will negotiate the repatriation of cities of high Chinese population after the war ends. It is essential that Japan be driven from the Chinese territory they have held so long. Chinese Communists will be integrated into the government of this territory, but to fully utilize the war making potential of this area the Red Army will maintain control till war ends. We know the Chinese will be impatient, but at war's end the two Communist nations will stride forward into a new, better world.

6 January 1941 : Soviet Union

The USSR has had to go to war with China again to handle the diplomatic situation. I think the problem is that France "surrendered", but did not end her wars. Now there is no French player, but China and the USSR have alliance structures which prohibit alliance between them.

I think if China declares war on France we will be able to ally.

The USSR has moved deeper into Japanese territory. We have surrounded Shenyang.

Germany is still at war with the USSR and allied with Japan. She has not attacked, but the Politburo hopes for clarity on the status - war or peace - soon.

You are right.

Wars do not end when surrendering. Another thing is that the diplomatic system hasn't taken into account that France might take over some new territory. There is no way for me to check if a country has surrendered, and thus, no way I can fix that problem... My advice is simple, don't surrender.

If Japan does not get help soon, Japan will lose all of China and landmass in Asia. Soviets have more and better planes and tanks in two units than Japan has in it's entire army.

3 February 1941 : Soviet Union

China and the USSR are still trying to become allies.

Going around the Chinese to get at the Japanese the Red Army attacks from the north and the east with some success. The Japanese and Americans have impressive naval forces near Seoul. This will be an interesting clash of naval and land forces.

I love a naval battle, but my navy is a fraction of their fleets.

3 March 1941

The Soviet Union attacks the Japanese positions all across the north of the Chinese mountain range. Engineers build infrastructure to support the offensive.

The United States landed an amphibious force southwest of Vladivostok which we addressed. We can defeat the Japanese in China but it will take time.

Great Britain has made peace with Japan. We assume they will concentrate on their battles in the West.

The Chinese are now being played by cpdeyoung.

I will have the Chinese cooperate fully with the USSR, and Mao is now leading China, with the Nationalists given a honored place in a coalition.

Japan is doomed. No chance against a Soviet Union that is not at war with anyone else. I discovered ONE Soviet tank unit has more tanks in it than Japan has in ALL of it's units.
