Brimstone 2's not picking correct target

Post by TwarVG »

Whenever I launch Brimstone 2 missiles at a target with other possible targets somewhere in the vicinity, they head towards the target exactly as expected but as soon as they turn their mmW radar seekers on they select a random target from somewhere in their radar cone. Not exactly sure if that's its intended behaviour and it should only be used against single targets, but it certainly doesn't seem realistic as they're a surgical weapon IRL and they don't appear to have their secondary laser guidance option in game which makes them pretty much useless in most circumstances. Are they working as intended? Or is it simply a result of the way radar seekers work in game that it picks something at random once activated?

The described behavior for missiles with terminal radar guidance and no datalink back to a targeting platform is as expected. Indeed, that's why the Dual-Mode Brimstone was created with a laser-guided option.

The lack of a laser spot tracker on the Dual-Mode Brimstone and Brimstone 2 is a DB error.

No save game, but current DB3000. An added laser spot tracker would only be effective for close-in engagements (or with a lasing platform near the target area assuming the dual-mode Brimstone/Brimstone 2 supports after-launch buddy lasing).
