carriers launching fighters out of stormy sea

Post by LLv34Mika »

Hi everyone!

Just started a new game... Poland surrendered, Netherlands and Belgium too so I placed some of my bombers/fighters in that area.

Now my opponent decided to play pretty aggressive as it seems and started an attack with his French fighters and bombers AND British fighers, bombers and carriers.

Well, everything would have been ok and it was a smart move. I was a bit surprised about that idea but I was happy that every unit survived. Until the carriers appeared... and then one or two (can't remember and unfortunately there is no way to watch it again anymore) carriers attack from a hex that was "rough sea".

Is there any way to review that turn to make sure I didn't get anything wrong? Or is there a way for the developers to have a look at that game?

challenge ID = 107269

Or am I just stupid and I missed something?
Thank you in advance

Mika

I wish you had posted that a turn earlier, bullet pulled the same thing in my game too. At least I sniped a UK fighter back. :D

There are 4 non storm hexes in a line from southeast of Dover, running northeast along the French and Belgian border. There are also 2 non storm hexes next to Le Harve and the ports are storm free as well.

but that were not the hexes where the attacks came from. At least not all attacks. I remember at least two that came from there. I'm pretty sure about that and I have no clue how that works.

Is the wheather showing a different status for each side sometimes???

The weather is different on each players' turn.

You'd have to ask your opponent.

This situation maybe related to the Carrier problem.

SITUTATION: Storm/Bad Weather is occurring where an Air unit is in, it cannot do ATTACK missions.
But Fighters, it would not be stretch to think Carrier Fighters, located in a Storm/Bad Weather can still fly INTERCEPT/ESCORT Missions.

Nope... he was attacking from there. It was no escort/intercept.

it just happened again... I "saved" the multiplayer game. Any chance to reload it again or just view the replay again?
This time I am 100% sure! A British carrier launched an attack vs one of my fighters again out of stormy sea.

There IS something wrong. Any way to check this?

I'll look into this further but off the top of my head the only thing I can think of, that is likely the issue here, is that the weather for the replay is being shown incorrectly, and that when your opponent did launch his attacks, his weather was clear or not stormy on that particular turn from those particular hexes.

The reason I believe this is the case is that the game as it is now simply does not allow you to launch those attacks under those conditions, but the attacks have been recored for replay purposes, so they should then have been valid attacks and the only mismatch is the weather being shown during the replay.

I'll dig further and confirm shortly.

I can confirm that it is just a matter of showing the wrong weather, actually the weather of the current turn and not the weather of the last turn, during the replay. I'll fix this for the next update.
