BTW we double-checked our sonar sources, and the 4nm max range for the BQR-4 as fitted on the Nautilus is indeed accurate.

Yep just wanna add my thanks as well for takin the time. When i first came across this issue i had no idea things like sonar masking was even in the sim.

Re-ran the Gamechanger scenario. Easier now to find the task group, identify the members, and maintain contact. Still very difficult to pin down an exact bearing to be able to launch those straight runners once you've used up all the Mk35s, which sounds quite accurate based on the descriptions of that early AN/BQR-2B sonar. And a periscope attack is death (ask me how I know this).

Definitely a noticeable change. Thanks for diving into this (pun intended) and finding that obscure masking problem.
