Operation Overlord 6 June to 6 July, 1944

Post by MikeJ19 »

I'm moving to the Western Front and this scenario reminds me a bit of the old V for Victory days and their games in Normandy. I will be moving to the offense for this one and take on Rommel again.

It is going to be nice to have air superiority this time.

This should be interesting.

I suspect most of your air will be hammering the German forces with interdiction attacks. In the STBP MP games I am playing they are a real nuisance to the Axis defenders.

John,

Yes, I'm taking on the computer. I'm going to set the computer with Moderate Intelligence, but a +1 cheat.

I'm not yet ready to play against someone using PBEM - I feel that my life gets in the way of playing too much and I do not want to feel that I am holding someone back...

Have a good day,
Mike

Devoncop,

I am looking forward to this battle. Looking at all the units - ground, air and naval - is a bit intimidating. At least in this scenario the majority of the Allied units have names that reflect what their units do. Bmbr Grp and Ftr Grp as names are clear. What type of missions 137 Wing should get is less clear.

Yes, I am going to do a lot of interdiction, but I also want to use my air units in combat support a lot.

This is going to be fun,
Mike

I have a lot of naval units. This is the first time I have had a navy. This should be fun. I do not expect the German Navy to get involved.

It is going to be so nice to have air superiority. It is also going to take a while to figure out and plan my air battle each turn. A good problem to have.

Thanks. Hopefully, I can get the Allies ashore quickly and then open up some room ...
