zone of control

Post by LLv34Mika »

Hi

following just happened

a yugoslawian corps was three hexes away from Budapest and I had a corps placed near so the enemy unit had to cross two hexes under my control. That would make a total of 5 movements points to reach Budapest.

The unit was far away from full supply (maybe 1 or 2... less then 5 in any way). What happened? It just marched into Budapest and Hungary surrendered.

Did I misread something? Well, it just ruined my last hopes to change anything in this game.
Now I moved my corps to the unit to check the movement points... it shows 3/4 because of low supply.

I just don't get it. Any ideas?
Thanx

Mika

Strength 5 or better ? Stronger units have stronger ZOC's.

can check again but since the Slovaks never fought before I guess it was strenght 10. Maybe there was one fight but then it was 8 or 9.

3 to get there seems reasonable, but would really need to know the exact situation and unit specs to be sure.

If the black cross is the starting point, the unit wouldn`t have to pass any ZoC the way KZ showed.

To get to the hex with the black cross from Pec, it would have to pass 2 Zocs, adding 2 points to movement costs, + 2 for the terrain = 4. A corps has got 5 action points without mob. and with supply greater 5, with less 4.

Mika said in the other tread that the corp was directly south of the slovakian corp. With the river and ZOC I shouldn't have been able to get there.

I think the most important lesson for you new guys is to never leave crucial cities unprotected.

Good gaming fellas

I guess there is no way to find it out anymore.

I was 100% sure that the unit can't get there but since it is there maybe I just made a stupid mistake and the unit was not south of the slovakian corps.

That is one of the things I really miss. Looking at a turn again.

I think technically Hubert and Bill can still see it in the server logs or something.
