They are separate things. No overwriting. If you want a challenge try RetreatUE. I'm biased but it's designed to be hard.

I haven't looked at my Mediafire page in a long while. I was totally surprised to see 4800 downloads of RetreatUE. I literally was expecting 50. Thanks for trying it. Made my day.

I had to redownload Unleashed Extended II and RetreatUE but now I get an error message saying the components list exceeds 170 components.

First of all: THANK YOU Roger and Retreat for the amazing work you put into these mods, i have been using them on their own for quite some time but just recently discovered some of the most amazing features!

so, after a couple of hours of fiddling around, I just got Bacon Mod (1.67) to work with RetreatUE
- integrated Roger's Bomber Bay Components into the RetreatUE research tree (they produce bombers like they should)
- Caleph as well! (Caleph Bomber Bays were missing in Das123's upload)
here is how:
Step 1: Install Bacon Mod (1.67 in my case) from Thread tm.asp?m=4263783
Step 2: Install Retreat1970's Unleashed Extended II + AI research orders from Thread #3834204
Step 3: Navigate to ... \Distant Worlds Universe\Customization\RetreatUE
Step 4: change this line in facilities.txt:
9, Terraforming Facility, 7, 0, 9, 20000.0, 2000.0, 200, 500, 80, Repairs planetary damage to a colony, thus improving the quality and increasing the happiness and income of the colony. Although damage will naturally repair over time, the Terraforming Facility repairs damage much faster
Step 5: add these lines to the end of components.txt:
179, Bombers - Bomber Bay, 26, 0, , 19, 45, 4, 40, 4, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 10, 20, 17, 7, 16, 4,

Hi Twizzler. I haven't played for a long time but are you patched? Matrix increased components in patches.

I think that might be it. I've updated it to the latest 1.9.5.12 but when I go to the title screen it always says 1.9.5.10 so I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it. But when I go to update it the software claims that Its already at the latest. So I think there is a bug somewhere, but I just don't know which files to delete for a fresh install.

Wouldn't that ruin the ship designs?
Personally, I just find them too small/cheap for what they do. I can understand them on big ships, but fitting 10 on an escort seems a little OP.

I've got everything fixed, and am able to play again. Which is nice. But now I have a new problem. I can't seem to open the component guide in the research tab. I thought it used to be the middle mouse button, but that doesn't work.
Also, it seems that some of my private ships and the private ships of independent planets just sit around the planet and don't move. Is this normal?

Well yeah, but why aren't they getting orders? They're just sitting there, the same ships, for years.
One more thing, I keep getting recommendations to build an Energy research station on my home planet at the beginning of the game. I think it's a bug. Because the recommendations stop when I build a couple of defense stations instead. At least for a few years, then it comes back.
Also, how do I stop pirates from offering protection? It clutters up the right side of the screen.

You should move to RetreatUE instead of UEI or UEII. It's the same as UEII except modified more.

Sure. Are you weak militarily?
