JUst saw over at grogheads that Jim and his wife died from the flu. That is kind of scary.

That's terrible. This flu is pretty bad. I just got sick today myself. I can't say for sure if it's the flu, but I'll probably be fine by next week my guess.

That's terrible news. He was the premier wargame journalist in the industry, imo. Not sure what to think about his wife joining him in death, either.

Thank you for alerting us. We can devote some time in memoriam, as our beliefs lead us.

He lived nearby. I'd see him from time to time at the FLGS. He loved naval wargaming and will be missed!

CNN did a feature about this year flu in the USA. It would seem that it was among the baddest years ever.

Here in Europe we had a similar scare two years ago. My mother lost over 10 pounds and it took three months before she was fully recovered (her brother died of natural causes, and she was unable to attend). It was a real scare, exp. for the elders and those of weak constitution.
"Yes darling, I served in the Navy for eight years. I was a cook..."
"Oh dad... so you were a God-damned cook?"
