Distant hexes do not work

Post by Telumar »

Yes. Distant hexes do no longer work with ranged equipment. Is this already known to the dev team?

Take Anzio @2km. There are rows of distant hexes on the upper and lower edge of the map. In the attached save file, select the German artillery unit in Littoria (24/26). It has a range of 8 hexes. There is a row of distant hexes in the lower corner of the map, wehre the Allied airforce is located. The hex distance is 11. However, the artillery unit is able to fire into the hexes (the one hex that has a nominal distance of 8 from the unit's location).
Also in that scenario, both side's airforces have been edited to be out of reach of each other while every hex of the "battlefield" is still within range of both airforces (equipment edited and distant hexes). You may also try it with the air units. Under III it was not possible to do airfield attacks, now it can be done (but shouldn't).

I looked into other scenarios as well, it is the same there. The bug is with vanilla and the new patch.
