Hopefully it'll now be 2000 stars!

100k stars, 4 colonies in each system on average, and conquer all galaxy to win.

Indeed!

I thought I was being very reasonable. I could have asked for 100 billion systems, the number of systems in our own galaxy. But, no, I was reasonable, and I agreed to settle for 100,000. For DW2, at least.

Plus, I want each of the 15 billion citizens on each of those 500,000 colonies to have a unique name, portrait, and backstory. I demand immersion!

DWU does up to 1400, I figured 2000 was a more realistic jump.

Im really curious if DW2 going to be a better version of DW with the same story line. Or is it a different storyline?

You can kinda get that effect if you jack research costs as high as possible on a 1400 star galaxy. This keeps your warp range tiny for a long time which means each empire has plenty of time to completely develop its home system before it can start to look to other systems. This will extend the game out quite a bit as its only going to be late game when you will be able to reach your opponents.

Yeah, I think there's some player-organized thing in E:D to explore the far reaches of the galaxy, and unfortunately they named it Distant Worlds (and now Distant Worlds 2).

I'm thinking of suing for mental trauma... [:D]

Is there any news at all about DW2? I'm sure there's at least something that can be shared with the community without building up too much unwanted hype. I'm checking back daily with no new posts at all, that is so frustrating. Hope all is going well! May your coding be flawless and DW2 is soon to be born! Thx! Cheers!

Must be coming along. No other games come close to scratching the itch that DW can take care of for me, second one can't come around quick enough
