Given the number of Germans in the way, it looks like a looonggg ten miles to Kharkov!

I think you already answered this Grognard, but why aren't you using the fronts to their full effect? Was the idea to concentrate air forces to Stavka and use the best leader there?

I think that if you skip the front bonuses for a long time, the absence of extra supports squads and leader checks will start to add up. Have you considered this?

Or am I just mistaken and the front armies are all colored white? :D

The coming snow turns could turn into a disaster for the Soviets.

The coming snow turns could turn into a disaster for the Soviets.

The panzer concentrations near Gorlovka and Kharkov look like big evil teeth ready to chew the blob heading toward Dnepropetrovsk :)

Desperate times call for desperate measures as Grognard is forced to rush for the cities. It's definitely an interesting situation!

T37.
Still Blizzard, snow predicted next turn.

AGN. Concede another row of hexes.
AGC. Hold the line this time, routing any stacks that have advanced.
AGC. The soviets continue to expand their salient south of Kharkov. It is threatening my rail line but a long way from any cities. If they continue West will see if I can do it any damage with improved weather. The lead units are now some 15 hexes from their railhead.
Soviets take two hexes in front of Kharkov but get routed back. The area to the East of Stalino looks very secure.

This turn the Soviets have ended up no closer to any cities that they are near to.
Bring up another 6 divisions of reinforcements down south, there is a trickle from the rear and some from AGN.
In total rout 36 units this move, including three Cav. Corps.

AAR at the start of T38, I have about 200k men in the pool.
Combat losses have been heavy over the blizzard and several infantry divisions pocketed, but most of the damage was logistics attrition.

The Soviet offensive at Charkov looks allot like the historical second battle for Charkov.

If this game goes as the historical battle, there will be few turns to go.

If that one word wouldn't have been with quotation marks, you'd be in trouble :D

Heheh
I have removed the quotation marks in my post above, lets see what happens.

(I simply enjoy typing the word "allot". Not sure whether this is weird or not, but its this way)

I was just referring to a certain Mr P, who used the word like that too :)

That was the allusion I tried to make :)
Just for the case I have a defense talk by Telemecus arguing that I am not Mr. P from another thread where a kind of witch hunt started, so I guess I will take him as my lawyer.

Mr P. => great axis player [:)], I've learnt "allot" from him. No comment about his human behavior[:(]

Concerning the game, I would bet on a german sudden death victory due to march weather. But of course I can be wrong...

No legal training - but given the lamentable performance of your copyright lawyers I am sure I could do a better job [:)]

This may help a "whole lot" or just "a lot". Of course if it is "allot" it might be a different story about "lots". Anyway hope this helps "alot" ;-P

Well, is the colloquialism, "It ain't over till the fat lady sings" true here? Is she starting to sing?

I have to say looks pretty tough to get one more city with what I see on the board :(. But it has been a very interesting Winter for sure.
