I saw where Distant Worlds is now being sold on GOG. I know if we bought it from Matrix/Slitherine we get a Steam key but do we now also get a GOG key?

no

and i say know as a guess tbh

as site is standalone, which also gets you a steam key, so that's two, can't see them having the option or plans to give another standalone, or the need for it either, while it's another platform to sell on, it's no different than the site version either, so also little point in having 3 keys

so unless admin posts and proves me wrong, i'd say no, and mean NO

There is also GOG Connect (https://www.gog.com/connect) which will allow you to connect your Steam games into GOG.
