Matrix Command and Steam expansions

I'm sure this information is somewhere, but I wasn't able to answer my question from what I've read here in the forum. I bought the standalone expansions on Steam (Northern Inferno, Chains of War). I see the main game is on a pretty good sale here at Matrix, but I'm confused as to whether the different installs will play nicely together (or at all). Could someone lay my options out for me, please?

They all play quite nicely together. From what I understand the expansions give you everything but it is locked, applying the main game licence key unlocks it. Not 100% sure on that but I have them all and it all works seamlessly.

But just to be clear, I have expansions from Steam and I want to get the main game from Matrix because it's on sale. Surprises me that that still works?

If you buy the game from Matrix, you can also get a Steam key for it. Check here:

There's a link right in the first post on how to do it.

Then you'll have everything on Steam if that's what you want.

i did all the updates.. and then i bought Chains of War... twice the other day... (matrix and steam) i cant play either of them.... they gave me a key .. but they didnt tell me what to do with it....
oh well.....

In steam, on the bottom left of the window is a button, “+ ADD A AGME”. Click on it and select “Activate a Product on Steam”.
