I am adding a touch of realism to this mod.

Though you can choose to play any one of the 51 races so far in the mod, if you decide to play a smaller race you will have more of a challenge. Let's face it, if you are in a fleet of Hutt ships and you come across a hostile fleet of Star Destroyers, it is unlikely that the Hutts will wipe out the Star Destroyers.

An Imperial Freighter used during the Galactic War to carry Tie Fighters and Imperial Walkers.

This freighter took several days to get right and was based off a Star Wars miniature.

A similar freighter, used by s smuggler, is seen leaving Mos Espa on Tatooine in Episode I.

Two races with their homeworld in the same system... bad news when one race is the Empire and the other race hates the Empire.

The picture below shows Tie Fighters attacking the other race, however the Tie Fighters without shields were no-match for the weapons of the other race.

The picture below shows the battle in progress but also shows the difference in graphics.

While the other race has the original Distant Worlds top down look to the ships, the Empire has the 3D look seen across all 51 races in the mod.

Checking home system names are correct for all playable races..... I noticed during testing that one system was called Sol which should not have been there.

At the same time I am changing some other information in the races folder

For example the species known as Dug from Malastare have the following military details:
Shandar was the previously entered home world name which was wrong.

TroopName ;Shandar Protector
TroopNameArmored ;Shandar Heavy Strike Force
TroopNamePlanetaryDefense ;Shandar Interceptor Unit
TroopNameSpecialForces ;Shandar Scout Team

The corrected military data for the Dug is now:

TroopName ;Malastare Troopers
TroopNameArmored ;Malastare Armored Troopers
TroopNamePlanetaryDefense ;Malastare Planetary Defense
TroopNameSpecialForces ;Malastare Special Forces

Before releasing the "preview alpha" version of this mod I want to replace all the planet images......this being a very timely process.

To do this I will create enough images for each planet type so that the "preview alpha" version is playable and more images will be added to the planet folder with subsequent updates.

If I run out of time the alpha version of this mod will be released on time with the first update following one or two days later.

Below is a picture of a forest world I am creating from a source picture where the source image is half covered in shadow. The picture shows me half way through the process of creating the forest world with the only step left being to copy high quality detail to the new image.

Work on forest world #2...... a variation of this world will be used in the Terrestrial world section as well.

With 2 days to go before the alpha version of this mod is released, I am scrambling to get important ships into the mod.

There is no way that all ships will get in with the initial release but hoping the rest will be aded to the mod with an update a few days later.

The picture shows a Rebellion Frigate and a medium freighter.

The BTL Y-wing starfighter seen in Episodes IV, V and VI has now been added to the Rebel Fleet.

This afternoon I am putting together the music soundtrack for the mod........ the last 2 weeks has been spent looking at which is the right music for this mod.

Music that will play while you make your selections will be music from several star wars movies..... took a couple of days to put together the opening music theme.

I originally had Mon Mothma as the face of the Rebellion.

However, with it being almost a year since the passing of Carrie Fisher, I have decided to make Princess Leia the face of the Rebellion.

Have used Audicity to put together the music for the mod selections screens.......

One of the reasons that Star Wars is so popular is the haunting music which everyone knows.
With the menu music now saved to the mod I can now put together the mod theme for the Empire and the Rebellion.

News on the release of this mod here tomorrow.....

With the alpha version of the mod being made available tomorrow I have now started testing.

Please keep in mind that this release tomorrow is an alpha version and not all features are in yet.
Ship sets are still being worked on,characters need to be added and more.......
Most of the planets have been redone however gas giants and ice planets will be finished soon.

Tomorrow the next Star Wars movie is out and it was always my intention to release the early version of the mod the same day as the movie.

When the alpha version of the mod is released, you can test it as there could be bugs I have not detected yet.

Updates will happen as additions are made to the mod.
