RE: Rodan {A: witpqs} vs. Godzilla {J: Andav}
Since Rodan is working through the Allied part of Dec 8th and "might actually plan for something in the future", I wanted to do a bit of research.
Lowpe has theorized that only Adens and Limas are really required to haul resources. I exported the xAK types out of Tracker. This includes AKs, xAKs and xAKLs There are 1611 total of these types of ships built during the war. It represents some 3.08 million tons of capacity. Of these, 965 are currently on the map. That leave 646 to be built or not built in this case.
I fiddled with the numbers a bit. Looking at the tracker export, there is some great information here including Fuel/Hex and a look at Cargo/(Fuel/Hex). I am assuming you want the lowest Fuel/Hex and the highest Cargo.
Here is a distinct count of the total number of each class in this scenario.
It is too bad the Std-A Cargo are not built yet. it seems like a good replacement for the Limas. Same for the Std-B Cargo.
Combined, the Adens and Limas have a lift of 809k. All but 7 are currently built. The 7 arrive within 60 days. I guess they means 639 will not be built. I will go ahead and finish these.
Does this sound like a doable strategy? Any others which look like they should be included?

Good thinking. This is more complicated than it seems though. It can't just be fuel/cargo.
The Limas in particular unload very slowly. They also can't dock at all ports. So I use xAKL and other small xAK in the short transit resource hauling areas, like from Fusan to Shimoneseki and from Hokkaido to Honshu. the actually saves fuel per load since they turn around faster.
The Limas for me are long distance haulers. That is where their fuel/cargo efficiency will be most useful. Back and forth to Singers and True and Babeldaob.
Adens do everything. They are the backbone, and do unload quicker than Limas. I do use all of the other types to haul resources and cargo but try to cater type to mission, so the more efficient over long distances and the less over medium distances.

RE: Rodan {A: witpqs} vs. Godzilla {J: Andav}
Pretty busy day over the map. Many of the typical things happening for December 9th, 1941.
Lots of ocean intercepts with Allied ships fleeing.
Here is the Aircraft Damage report from Intel Monkey. We bag the first B-17 of the war! They were trying to bomb KB.

1941-12-09
Notable happenings:
Pre-Invasion action off San Fernando
Japanese forces CAPTURE Tarawa !!!
I am working to clear the Allied fighter defenses from Clark and Manila. Good progress. Most of the sweepers are flying from the bases on Northern Luzon which where liberated on the 7th and 8th.
A group of Claudes are doing yeomen’s duty near Malaysia covering some of the TFs transiting these very dangerous waters. I need to get these guys into Zeros but I am currently pressed for fighters. They are good enough to keep the British from scoring cheap hits.
And speaking of good enough. The sneaky Allies have sent B-17 to Babeldaob. Petes and Jakes are the best we can do right now for CAP.

Amphibious Assault at Legaspi
Amphibious Assault at Dadjangas
Amphibious Assault at Mauban
Japanese forces CAPTURE San Fernando !!!

Allied forces CAPTURE Ichang !!! Boo hiss!
Adelaide squishes the landing at Kaving. I know better than to send these guys unescorted.
At Miri, Thracian does a good job disrupting this landing. I ran a CA lead surface combat TF through here but I guess they came up empty.
Bangkok now has extra fighters on CAP. 4 Heavy Industry hits are tough to take. AGV escorting. Good to know where these guys are hanging out.
Hong Kong holds tough. We will rest a day and try again. I have been bombing these troops since Dec 7th.

A look at the Philippines area of operations. I know a lot of folks bypass this and push south. I believe witpqs will fight from day one. So while speed is important, I would rather wrap up the Philippines and push south. So far, things are going well. I have cleaned out most of the riffraff. USN subs keep doinking torpedoes off the sides of my ships. Every now and then, one explodes.

There is a lot of cat herding going on in Central China. Wenchow has over 23k troops. I have been bombing it but the AGV showed up today to disrupt the bombing. I will sweep with elite Zeros from Formosa tomorrow. It is probably Whack-a-Mole and the mole will be gone. I do not have any surface assets close which could bombard. Plus, I worry about hitting the HI and such instead of the infantry.

RE: Rodan {A: witpqs} vs. Godzilla {J: Andav}
Dec 14th, 1941
Today featured a series of running battles beginning with a CL lead TF and featuring a Maya lead TF battling a TF with CA Houston, CL Marblehead and the dreaded CL Boise,
Of note:
Japanese forces CAPTURE Hwaiyin !!!
Japanese forces CAPTURE Wake Island !!!
Japanese forces CAPTURE Naga !!!
Japanese forces CAPTURE Buin !!!
CL Yubari firing at Wake Island
DD Tachikaze firing at 100th Chinese Corps (Wenchow)
DD Samidare firing at Wenchow (Wenchow)
DD Yamagumo firing at 100th Chinese Corps (Wenchow)
First battle. Lots of torpedoes in the water but no hits.
The second has CA Maya reacting into the Houston lead TF. The 3 hits on Houston where all 20cm from Maya.
The third round was minus DD Stewart and DD Parrott. The damage must have been bad enough to cause them to drop out. This was again the TFs reacting and engaging. Torpedoes miss.
The fourth round goes to the USN. Solid hits from Houston on Natori.
Round 5 was a pillow fight. I think both sides must be out of ammo.
Round 6 see a react to a new target. I fully expected to find Prince of Wales and Repulse but instead get 2 AMs. They are dispatched.
Round 7. Everyone must be tired and deaf from all the shooting. Another short pillow fight. CL Natori had disbanded from the TF.
In the end, I am not sure any of the Allied ships were in sinking condition. Houston was hurt and needs yard time. Marblehead and Boise while dented a bit are probably just in need of ammo. There was a message about CL Natori flooding magazines or something. Then, “CL Natori sinks at sea”. Bummer. Not a good exchange. The gunnery on both sides was pretty weak.
But wait! There is more! Houston is detached now.
And not to be out done, the Aussies get the TF that dropped guys off at Shortlands.
The first sweeps of Singapore begin the attrition of the fighter defenses.
AVG has bugged out of Wenchow. There are no moles to whack there today.
The AVG does show up at Bangkok again.
Miri will get fighter coverage on the 15th.
Now here is what I have been looking for. Z-Force is at Balikpapan. I feared I would run into them during the running surface combats during the night. My reinforced Mini KB (Kaga added) attacks. Unfortunately, no torpedoes left in this part.
Probably just some paint and some bondo. Neither looks to be badly damaged. Basically everything bounced. Still, 15 hits had to do some system damage.
Zamboanga could be troublesome. I needed this base to fall.

So where has KB been? I am so glad you asked. After paying Pearl Harbor a visit on Dec 7th, KB moved to cover the Wake Island invasion which was delayed while waiting for KB to arrive. KBs AOs have made Truk and are replenishing their bunkers. KB will go to Truk as well to replenish sorties. It will cover some landing in the South Pacific (Rabual, Port Morsbey, etc.)

RE: Rodan {A: witpqs} vs. Godzilla {J: Andav}
Let's see ... Last update was Dec 17, 1941 (Dec 2017 real life). Current date is Oct 5th 1943. I obviously suck a AARs ... I am going to try updating more often. We are getting into a point of the war where the Allies are growing stronger and the Empire is being slowly ground into dust.

RE: Rodan {A: witpqs} vs. Godzilla {J: Andav}
We will start with the strategic map.
Being scenario 1 based, I did not push into India and only pushed to the northern coast of Oz. That gain has been lost at this point.
China is conquered. We have very minimal house rules. In my previous game, I bombed out all the light industry and rolled over China easily. I self imposed a house rule to not bomb industry and still rolled over China and now I get the advantage of what survived. I did allow witpqs to let his Chinese forces pushed into Burma to move to bases to recover. They are supposed to move back into China again as opposed to leading the charge to Singapore or something.
He was able to stop me in Burma. Between Allied air power being troublesome and needing to leave much of the IJA army in China (between the siege of Chungking and PPs), I just did not have the troops to push him all the way out into India. We are now at a stalemate.
In the Pacific, he is slowly taking back the Marshals. We had a carrier clash here where the IJN came out of the short end of the stick. In the end, I just did not get enough hits on any on CV to sink it.
I am not defending the South Pacific. In the past, this has been a place where units get isolated and left behind. Truk and the islands to the west are really the first line of defense. The Marianas are heavily defended.
The SRA is a real question mark for me on where and how to defend. I will post something specific about that later.
In the North Pacific, neither one of us has really done anything.

IJN Ship losses are as follows. The CV clash was really very frustrating. I scored a lot of hits but they were spread across many ships so there was not much in sinking condition.
22 DDs also lost. These really hurt.
