Interesting story - and incredible how nature soon reclaims our mistakes and follies. Not sure about the quality of the reporting though - battleships?

The dude sounds somewhat like a dumb@$$. Preserve a junkyard to "protect" wildlife that infests it? I'm sorry, but eyesores don't deserve protection, and wildlife "will find a way".

The one ship identified in the above article SS Accomac https://www.eyeem.com/p/31103079 originally built as a ferry, although to me it had the appearance of being a carrier.

Yes, I thought the same. They are most definitely not battleships which is why I named the thread 'Mallows Bay Shipwrecks' rather than copying and pasting the title from the BBC.
