Note that Bottas his using a new Aero package since Malaysia while Lewis was still using the old one:

I believe that he's keeping the new one and Lewis the old one for Suzuka.

Yes, but to be clear I am commenting on what has come straight from the horses mouth. I am not suggesting Bottas is having a bad time - he himself and Toto Wolff are.

Certainly. It˚s just that I don’t quite agree with ”Mercedes must be wondering” part of your post. Yet. But he needs to up his game quickly, obviously.
warspite1

Yes that's a fair comment. But I get the impression that, just as Lewis was very much Lauda's appointment, Bottas is Toto Wolff's so one can understand why Toto has spoken out - albeit in a supportive manner. Given what Red Bull have said, I wouldn't discount Ricciardo in a Mercedes next year.

Mercedes one-two in qualifying, so not too bad. Penalties not considered, of course. But not too bad from Bottas. Will be an interesting race, certainly some tough names in front of Bottas to overtake

Hamilton and Bottas on different strategies. Maybe has to do with their different aero packages.

And that's Suzuka done. I pretty much only watch the Monaco, Spa, and Suzuka races, so that's my season done as well [:)]

Things proceeding as they seemingly are at the moment, I'd not be surprised to witness a double victory for Merc both with drivers and manufacturers.

No the different strategies reflect their different starting positions - and the hope that they can gain places by staying out longer and then having the faster tyres at the end. Raikkonen did the same from a similar position. They don't want to waste the fast tyres while stuck in traffic.

Yes indeed. Their second tyre choices told as much, was a bit too quick with my initial comment. Then again, I don't much F1 that much, either [:'(]

Well, unless surprised, I do not see how Hamilton could not be world champion this year.

It would be spectacular for Lewis to win the championship in his hero Senna's homeland of Brazil. Ferrari seems to have healed their wounds though, so that is not likely. I hope that it goes to Abu Dhabi.

Even I'm starting to believe its going to happen [X(]

But it only takes a retirement in this race and suddenly it starts to feel like 2007 all over again. With Lewis, as with Nigel, it ain't over 'til it's over [:(]

CONGRATULATIONS

TO

L E W I S
H A M I L T O N

for winning his 4th World Championship!

This year, IMHO, was his best season in his F1-career.

Watching Lewis is like watching Nigel.... they really put you through the wringer!

But at the end of the day, he got the job done - again! [&o]

Well done Lewis Hamilton - a 4-time World Champion . Wow that sounds soooo good to hear and write. Never easy, the car suffered damage in the incident with Vettel, but he didn't panic and drove through the field doing what he needed to do [&o]

Excellent, hard but fair racing with Alonso at the end which caused my heart to stop a couple of times but it all worked out okay

Lewis, I love you, I want to marry you and have your babies [;)]

Super job to Lewis and Sepp for a great rivalry. Mr. Hamilton is the top British driver in F1 history. I guess it's up to the Queen as to when we can call him "Sir". Maybe now he can give advice to Lauda. ;)

I'll leave the last word to Fernando Alonso (who many consider the best of the current drivers). Alonso was asked whether he regarded Hamilton as one of the five greatest drivers in history.

"Yes," the Spaniard replied. "In F1, every single season he has been very competitive, apart from one or two with Jenson (Button) when he had some issues. He was able to win with a dominant car, with a good car like 2010 or 2012, or with bad cars like 2009 and 2011. Not all the champions can say that."

All I know about 'Grand Prix' is that Avalon Hill wanted to bring out a game with that title, but stopped when they realized how a 10 year old boy would pronounce it to a saleswoman. [:D]

Good start to the weekend from Lewis - and on a track he has often not been entirely convincing on....
