Warship Diagram

Hello, I been trying to figure out how to layout the ship diagram here. For example, X or Y turrets or positions. Does anyone know where I can look up in part of the ships so I can label these slots?

Anything would help out. Cant seem to find much details on WWII ship turret locations. Wasn't sure if that just England terms or just random for different countries that use that layouts.

Thank you Rebel Yell, yeah I figured it was different in some countries. I only came up a few, included old book, like the Jane's Fighting Ships of World War II. Some details on wiki, etc. My guess would be A from the bow and ended at the stern with a Z. I will do what I can to label these slots in this projects I been working on.

In WWII the German Navy used (bow to stern) Anton, Bruno, Caesar, Dora.

The British used (bow to Stern) A, B, X, Y. The Dido-class (unusually for the British) had three turrets forward and used Q for the 3rd.

I am not sure what the British called the 3rd turret on Nelson and Rodney though.....

Thank you warspite1, i manage to figure it out. It is tricky tho. Been using some letters, bow, stern as well forward and aft. Depending on the setups.

British system
forward turrets
A,B,C,D,E
midships turrets
O,P,Q,R,S
aft turrets
V,W,X,Y,Z

For the secondary, it was P# and S#. For example, the four 5.25" batteries on either side of the KGV class were S1 to S4 and P1 to P4.

American ships were by type and location. eg Iowa class main battery would be 161, 162, 163. Don't know about the secondary batteries.
