Some questions about new features

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Some questions about new features

Post by SheperdN7 »

Just got back into playing WitE, remembered playing as Germans and having a couple hundred ground elements in the captured equipment pool by turn 7, this was with the 1.08 patch.

Have gotten back into game with latest patch and it is turn 7 with ZERO equipment captured, is this a feature that was removed?

Also in the logistics report, there is a section labeled as "population" with it then saying "500K axis population missing"

What is this?

And finally I have to ask what is the option titled "CV mode"?
Current Games:

WitP:AE PBEM against Greg (Late '44)
AE PBEM against Mogami (Early'44)
WITE PBEM against Boomer Sooner

You can see pools of captured equipment on the production screen if you click country name on the right.

Population report is supposed to track the number of lost manpower factories (1 factory = 50k). It may be off in games started under earlier version.

CV mode allows you to play using more accurate values on counters, that reflect with greater accuracy expected strength in combat. There are also variants which allow you to treat artillery elements as having 1 CV instead of 0 (default), and/or support elements as having 0 CV instead of 1 (default).

Many thanks for the questions and the answers. The patch notes are sometimes not clear, so please, guys, ask your questions. I posted a similar question re missing population on the steam discussions. Clearly, best avenue to get clarifications is the Matrix forums,

What happens to missing populations? Do they eventually turn up or what?
