This was historically the point when most of the surface knife fights and serious carrier battle occurred. It appears like some major elements of his KB are not engaged.

If my Intel is correct, he has brought all that he left. Below is the list of ships sunk thorough December 31st 1924.

Well you hurt him, even if the results are not stellar.
Why no strike from KB? Were their planes attacking something else?

Yes, not a single torpedo attack to date in this clash.

There were a couple of very small strikes by the KB if you look above, but not a single mass attack. I think he may be out of aircraft that are ready to fly.

Mr. President the battle for Tulagi is underway. At this time we expect several days of intense combat around Tulagi. While it was unfortunate that some Japanese surface forces hit the transports all troops are ashore safely and only supply is left to unload.

Nice! You put some serious hurt on his cruiser and destroyer strength and it looks like CVL Shoho went down.
Looks like Junyo and Hiyo got away without much damage but probably lost a lot of their aircraft.
Very compelling drama when both sides go "all -in" at the historic change of tide timeframe. [:)]

Southwest Pacific January 1st 1943 - Ring in the New Year

Mr. President it is my please to report to you that Japanese forces are now in full retreat around in this area and all their forces and heading north. At this time we suspect the Japanese were unaware that Admrial "Ching" Lee's fast Battleship forces did not sail with the carriers as they have on every other occasion.

While his forces were forced from the fight the damage they inflicted proved decisive in setup up the conditions for the victory today.

This last week will change the course of events for the free world......

Awesome follow-up!
Both sides will be licking their wounds for the next three months but when your ships come back on line the Allies will control the agenda in the Pacific!

Beaucoup Kudos! [&o]
