I have taken out my own sub in game with SUBROC...

On the same note. Sub crews said that the Mk-45 Astor had a Pk=2.
The target and the launching sub[:D]

Try the nuke version of SUBROC’s replacement, Sea Lance. Warhead size 200kt! That’ll ruin everyone’s day!

Never use it within the first CZ.

My general feeling of these weapons is that they were only really useful in an era when you could count on at least one CZ detection, or as was the case in the Soviet military, one was willing to sacrifice one's self to destroy one's adversary.

I totally agree. Weapons like Subroc and Sealance was intended to kill boomers at long range, where you didn´t have an accurate fire solution. Close range use would have been suicide.
And yes. Unless the conflict had gone nuclear, these weapons would have been useless.
