Turn 88 This is getting freakin ridiculous

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

WoW, and those are some good leaders too. I bet Zhukov is next.

That is some bad luck.

Maybe you placed them where they were replaced by the AI mutiple times. Each removal costs 1 political point.

Nope, they are "killed in an accident"

The "exe" guy was shot, low political rating no doubt.

Reported long ago, musta got lost in the storms.

Just replace Pavlov first thing, problem solved.

Note: "killed in accident" still happens, really rare. Executions as before.

If I remember rightly each displacement increases the chance of KIA, as does an HQ next to an enemy unit. Could this be the result of HQs being far forward?

Displacement when HQ is isolated is especially deadly.

Yep, killed via hq displacement is often enough, reads as "killed while trying to escape" in the events log, not "killed in an accident" also seen in events log.

Both of these events show up as "kia" in the cr. M-60 is getting the "killed in an accident" events. If he looks at the events log he will see if by hq disp or accident. Note: Events logs are saved as .psv files in game directory when using PBEM, don't know about server game.

Does anybody want to look through about 300+ files in my game directory, comparing "killed by accident" numbers with those in the case of Pavlov get fired (by the player) first turn.

Well I sure as hell don't want to dig all that out and send via email.

Meanwhile we wait until the newbs finally learn to handle the axis blitz and can make it into 42, maybe without using tricks, by then they will notice, as m-60 has, all those god sov leaders "biting it" haha.

Back so soon? Yep. Tried to edit but Matrix system doesn't seem to like me playing my tunes at the same time. Sheesh. Tunes off.

1) good sov ldrs, not "god" as above.

Any sov players who want to keep, best chance anyway, your best leaders, now two tricks 1) fire Pavlov t1 2) replace any and all good leaders that get trapped in pockets with some *s* head, like the morons that keep poping up in these forums. Curses, another slip-up, stop that charlie, be nice, nice, nice. Hugs, kisses, smooth, smooth, ok now?

Better get ok from opponent first, don't really want to be labeled as a cheater.

Last note, maybe, I am the supreme MORON, even with caps lock,
me dumb, you smart, rinse and repeat, again, more, again.

All of these KIA are straight out accidents. They were just sitting in their HQ behind the lines, slipping on a bar of soap, choking on a bone etc.

In my actual game I lost gen. Aleksandr Vasilevsky in the first or second turn. Allegedly an accident too. But who can be sure that he wasn't telling political jokes when he was drunk.

Chuikov bites the dust on T129. If I am not mistaken, Tolbukhin, Konev and Chuikov now all dead, commanded 31st Army. Of course, if you switch 3 and 1 around, you get 13.

An unlucky army I suppose. Maybe I'll give it to Pavlov next.

What kind of death? I had an unlucky army too, where no commander of my choice could remain for more than 2 turns. But they were replaced, not killed.

Same KIA. This is the first game I've played where the game has to start being affected by all these quality general losses, which is a shame.

M60, there is a post on the WITE 2.0 forums dealing with leader losses. I don't know if you saw that post M60 since I saw your name in the forums. The post was replied to by Joel on what happens with leaders check loss & other workings to cause the deaths. Now I don't know the deviation between the two games but the way the thread reads the code is the same for leader loses in both games.
