R.I.P. The Greatest Hero

Post by Capt. Harlock »

In all likelihood, Stanislav Petrov quite literally saved the world.

Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

The other one was that Russian submarine officer who declined to fire a missile or torpedo in the 1962 Cuban missile crisis.

Thanks for sharing. Stanislav Petrov truly was a hero. I hope there exist many more like him to prevent the world's destruction in the future.

Rest in peace, Stanislav.

Amazingly brave, especially considering the regime. Personally I would have dithered about making a decision for so long, events would have overtaken me.

Good for Stanislav. A toast to him. He had the balls to do what most would not have. The right man in the right place at the right time. The whole of human history hinges on these few as well as their few polar opposites. Which will be at the controls next time?
