FYI: Santa Cruz

Post by sschnar1 »

Version 1.09.08, Single Player

Just noticed that when Spain surrendered, after being AXIS, the 3 islands of the Canaries turned to ALLIED.
The Santa Cruz Port hex remained AXIS.

I don't know if this is how it was to work or is an opps (bug).

Hi sschnar1

Is this port actually Spanish or German?

If the former then it might be that there is a German or other active Axis nation's naval unit in the port.

Please can you also let me know if the port of Vigo belongs to Spain or Germany?

Thanks

Bill

Santa Cruz is an island in the Canaries located at 113,128.
Its port is at 112,128.

During the game, the port was used by the Germans, signified by the visual BORDER indication similar to the port VIGO.
Spain later joined the AXIS side. Did not notice the state of the port Santa Cruz after joining the AXIS.

Spain was then defeated and surrendered.
The border separating the port and the island was not present, but was set to AXIS, while the island itself was ALLIED.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. The disappearance of the border suggests that the scripts transferring it back to Spain worked ok when it entered the war, and therefore it was the presence of an Axis naval unit in the port when Spain surrendered that has meant that the port remains in Axis hands.
