Burma...at least it is producing at full tilt...nothing damaged here yet. But I have almost no planes to defend Magwe..but the Allies lack infrastructure to start bombing here.

Two good Japanese Divisions at Lashio...and now they are needed at Singers. I will probably replace all of Burma with RTA and reallocate the decent troops to Singers/Sumatra/Java.

No doubt this is still quite the mess...but I do feel that I should be able to take Java eventually and establish historic Japanese expansion or slightly more than historic.

Off the table is any move on Port Moresby or Darwin. No India. Not much in China. No Midway.

Sakahlin is doable, and once better fighters arrive might be worthwhile rebuilding the oil there.

I guess, overall my goal is to see Jan 1, 1945.

I have finally managed to assemble a half decent fighter force in Manchuko. As long as they avoid the Mig-3 squadrons (Soviets have at least 2) they can really cause some havoc.

Runways in Manchuko are pitiful though. Aviation support is extremely short too.

Another rather substantial force of Zeroes is on Hokkaido. Honshu is covered by Petes, Alfs, Nates, Claudes and a sprinkling of Zeroes.

Of course, this means that the Allies still control the air over Singers.

China...the big op going now is Wenchow and then on to grab some more resources and establish the magic highway which I am doing in a very unorthodox manner. Consider it testing the logistics routines.

Reduced cargo ships, the darn Soviets, is simply playing havoc with my ability to bring in resources to Honshu.

Stock solutions no longer apply.

Yes and no. Djambi has been hit hard. The Allies have pulled no punches in attacking the industry (night bombing, low level, CV strikes, parachute attacks, etc) but even Obvert gets distracted.

I have scoured the Empire for all AA...and thankfully, I brought AA to the SRA in large numbers originally. However, I didn't anticipate the AA not firing at night without searchlights and sound detectors. I really am a big fan of searchlights, now in 1941 and 1942.

The big thing is not to get flustered, Japan is so resilient in 1942, just keep working on the perimeter, the basics. Take advantage of the Allies super aggressiveness.

The Yamashiro...she ate three torpedoes and numerous bombs back when we sank the Yank fleet carrier off Balikpapen. She managed to make Tawi Tawi, where one of the IJN's two AR's has worked on her ever since. Almost ready to head back...I just need to get some ASW and escorts to her.

Major ground units to be bought out of Honshu. 5 Divisions, roughly 5 months. Where will they go? Manchuko? Burma? SRA? China? The brigades are air mobile and can be sent to a converted island base by plane.

Do you have a small AA company to march the rail line? Hopefully, that will clear up the problem for further use.

Singapore - I know PP are at a premium, but divide your worse divisions and replace B & C with good leaders to speed up recovery.

I have to send something else, the 20mm AA needs to be working. Obvert flies low when given the chance.

Just caught up fully with this AAR – man that was a bloodbath there in the DEI in early January holy moly.

You’ve remarked before about how the Allies best strategy is to ‘contest everything right from the start’. Would you say that is fall-out from all the fighting done earlier on this AAR or is that in your experience of all the games you’ve played?
What, in your experience and opinion, leads you to say this?
