What makes you think that thinking is appropriate or even present? Wonder perhaps such as I wonder what was deleted so that we can't think about it.

History is clear 11 States left the Union and almost every one of them LISTED as a reason that Slavery was the reason they left.

There is no such thing as appropriate here. We have gone waaaay beyond any measure of appropriateness. This situation is either dealt with appropriately of its not. But even if it was - even if it could be, and I don't think it can - is that really appropriate? I don't think so.

Woaw!!! History in that, what Lee said was History(his history) no more no less. How Lee saw it and his reasons for what he said that was not my point. Simply, he said it (is historical) no more no less. So why would Greybrar want to erase a historical statement. Just that. He wouldn't Greybair respects history I mean he plays wargames(for gods sake). How could that be misinterpreted on a wargame site? Oh well, I guess it was.
I have no desire to do a search but if you want an interesting discussion someone could bring up what else Lee said in that Respeect. Have at it. I have my own opinions on the erasing of history/mouments for political correctness but I'll keep them to myself in respect for the Matrix policy.

Actually I am opposed to removing monuments. Always have been always will be. But I am also against revisionist history where in one claims something that simply was not true. The Civil war was ABOUT Slavery as indicted by those States that left the union.

Well you'll have to make your complaint to Lee, I guess. Maybe to you he was a revisionist. What he said and why he said it is something to investigate (as an amateur historian) by looking at other things he said on the matter. its not revisionist to try and understand his thinking.
So I'm just hoping your statement was not pointing an accusing finger at me and you were only speaking in general terms about revisionism.

From what you said above you would be against removing Lee's words from any written historical documents. That's good. so we are in agreement there.
