When I save a game in CW and go to play again it doesn't show the file. When start the game it then show's the the file but when I open the file it just shows a blank map of somewhere. Then says 'Error opening file' I have both patches installed.
Thanks for any help.

might help to give more details

How to get a DirectX Diagnostic file:

1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

Who do I send it to? If it's an attachment to this forum I have no idea how.

OK it doesn't support zip files, so I uploaded the text file. Thanks for your help.

well your on the same windows version as me, so apart from the different hardware, and as it works on mine and not yours for me it's a permissions issue

so uninstall the game, make sure the game / folder and anything related to it, is also gone

ccleaner or another type of file checking program is good for this, as it cleans out temp files, and cleans registry and works 100% for windows 10 and it's free on google

the reinstall the game, install it in a non default location of your choice eg c:/Games etc

and reinstall as right click install as admin, on the main game, plus the patches also

make sure all the prerequisites are also installed before you run the game

on the desktop shortcut, go into the proprieties and run always as admin

I just checked the Matrix return policy and found out all sales are final. There are no refunds so I'm screwed out of $29.99. I am not a happy camper. [:@]

try support and see if they can find something else to try, it works for me so from looking at what you have given, i can't find anything else to add, but support may have more advice to offer before you give up, give them a shot, as they have more experience and data and feedback to go through so may have more options to give you, myself still thing it's something simple on your end that's stopping it, but finding out when is a guessing game without knowing fully your system and what you have or haven't got loaded each boot etc[:(]

I am really embarrassed. You were right though it was something very simple. I was picking Antietam then when it came to load the save I was picking Antietam again when I should have looked at bottom right and picked South Mountain. Sorry I wasted your time zakblood.
