I'd foregotten

Post by Chris21wen »

Not having played Japan for well over 5, might be 6 years I'd forgotten how much work has to go into the Japanese first turn and all due to the economy. Two weeks it took with much of it working out which aircraft to build. Still it's done now but my old notes would have helped unfortunately my HD crashed taking the notes with it. Moral here and something I spent many hours telling others. Back stuff up.

My notes don't depend on disk, but they might burn easily. [;)]

I actually created a spreadsheet for Japan to help will all of that [:)]

I also found that the best way to deal with Japan's merchant marine mess is to just collect them all in Japan going to different Ports there based on their speed/capacity/etc. It makes organizing them much easier [:)]

I found doing this approach really does not have any impact on how Japan fares in the game. Even in PBEM. Plus if I screw up and send something to the 'wrong' port, it only takes a turn or two to get it to the correct one.

When I have what I consider enough ships for a Transport TF, I gather those ships up and send them out. So I am not waiting for every single one of that class to arrive before sending them out. At least in most cases. The large tankers and AP types, I tend to wait as there are so few of them for Japan.

Before I did all of this, it took me a week to do Japan's first turn [X(]. Now I can do it under a day [:)]

Mess around with it, should help bring back your memories. But this might wanna start over again so you don't make the same mistake twice.

Need to gather and organize mine though.

I can never see me getting to this stage. Took me about two weeks for my last start. Not because it should, or I couldn't do it faster, I just looked at it as a very undesirable chore, and tried to ignore it.[8|]
