New small but interesting feature coming soon

Post by Vic »

Hi all,

Just wanted everybody to know I still find time now and then to go through my to-do and wishlists for ATG.

I have just implemented the basics for a feature that probably will be most interesting for human - human PBEM games, namely the power to route how your supply crosses the oceans.

This will allow you to have some more chance to get your supplies through when your opponent has naval supriority and creates a guessing game of rabbits and foxes how the supplies will flow, or can be intercepted.

Instead of going for a very complicated system where you could set the supply between each possible HQ in the chain by waypoints I have chosen to allow the player to just block certain ports or sea hexes from being used in naval supply/transfer/strategic transfer.

Coming up in the next public beta.

Best wishes,
Vic

This is a feature I have wanted to see for a long time.

Thank you Vic, you have implemented it in a very sensible way and it is a terrific addition to the game.

An interesting feature. Thanks for adding things to ATG! Not many designers would do this.

Implementation of wishlists for ATG is cool [:)]

There is no such thing as a historically accurate strategy game. Every game stops being historically accurate from the very first move player do. First unit that moves ahistorically, first battle with non-historical results, mean we ride in unknown.

As with most things that are added to the game, they are enabled via rulevars. Which, where and so on, is noted in the patch version notes, in the thread where you can download the patch. Usually at least :)

EDIT: Rulevar 916 is the one you are looking for.
