Duke of York Never Gives Up, 1950 -- new beta for testing

Post by Mgellis »

A nice little Cold War scenario, with a battleship...

Please let me know what you think. What needs to be fixed, revised, improved, etc.? What can I do to make the scenario more interesting and more challenging.

Thanks!

Played it. Very fun little scen. Got miss-attacks by the Tu-4s and the run-in with a destroyer who got the dubious honor of being the last ship sunk by a battleship in high-seas combat.

Good fun, Kenya had her comms knocked out halfway through a fight with the Russian DD and stayed that way till the end. Kinda cool not knowing if she would make it or not!

Hey a nice little scenario

perhaps may be fun to add a destroyer escort group and a couple of bad guy subs, just to mix it up a little

Shame theres nwo way to 'warn off' a probable hostile without letting it get into range.

good one !

This was fun. The Duke of York got her comms knocked out during the duel with the cruiser (I had not even considered that comms disruption would be activated, it doesn't appear to show up on the startup splashscreen), luckily I had plotted a zig-zag course before that event, so I shadowed her with the Kenya for the rest of the time and the York made it to the RP zone in one piece. I think the complexity and difficulty ratings should be a bit lower though.

Hi,

I have a question about comm loss. I had the Kenya within 1nm of the Duke of York when the Kenya lost comm. If a vessel is within visual LOS, why would they lose total communication with the flagship? There are other forms of communication when you are within LOS.

Thanks,

C

Good point. Hopefully this is resolved.

On my first playthrough I ran away cleanly, except one Bofors gun kicked out by bomb. As Neptune provides good situational awareness, surface-wise, it was fairly easy to plot course around enemy ships.

On a second playthrough, I played more agressive, explicitly seeking out enemy ships, adn they went for me with ASMs, and I got away but around 50% damage on the Duke of York.

Any suggestions on things that should be changed, improved, etc. What can be done to make the scenario more challenging, more fun, more realistic, etc.? Or is it ready for the Community Scenario Pack? Thanks!
