Turn 25; Hordes of Airborne HQ & Units

Post by wga8888 »

Perhaps its historical, but 5 airborne corps arrive on turn 25. Should I entertain the thought of airborne drops or just consider them future Guards Infantry Divisions and deploy to a rear fort line?

You have the following choice :

- Convert airbone brigades to guard rifle division early 1942.
- Convert airbone brigades to airbone corps at the start of 1943.

It is one or the other. I never tested the last option but airbone corps may have a more interesting TOE than a guard rifle division.

Airbone brigades do not return if destroyed so you may want to keep them safe before converting them in something.

Thanks. I did not remember airborne brigades are not replaceable. I try to keep them safe in the early turns but needed a reminder why.
• March 1942: Three Soviet Airborne Brigades -> Guards Rifle Division
• January 1943: Three Airborne Brigades -> Guards Airborne Division
